Blurring The Edges
June 30th, 2011I wanted to blur the line between photo and background to create the impression that one flows into the other.
The effects have been created using layers of stamped images, texture paste and stencils.

In the second layout I printed the photo twice .Once on photo paper, the second slightly bigger on water colour paper . I then used ink and water to blend.

Altered Book Albums

Bunting
March 30th, 2011As I mentioned in the March Newsletter, here are some examples of Bunting I think would make a great addition to a Layout or mini album.
The first is very simple, made from cream Manilla paper which has been sprayed with Shimmerz paint and stamped over. The addition of Prima bling completes the glitzy look.
Next we have a vintage look, again layerd stamped images. This time on old sheet music.
Beach bunting, created using corrugated card and sheet music which I coloured with distress ink and then dipped in bees wax. Finished off with shells and Vintaj brass embellishment.
Lastly Vintaj Brass bunting. I cut a brass blank to shape ( using sturdy scissors), embossed with cuttlebug, and finally embellished with more vintaj goodies. Oh the tassel is from the new Prima trinkets range.
Class layouts I designed for the Spring Retreat
March 19th, 2011The first of several layouts I used on the Spring weekend.
I used TenSecond Studio and Viva decor products to create the central design. I then combined the old and the new with sheet music and Prima paper from the Botanicals range. Beautiful brass embellishments by Vintaj .
Here are some close ups.( click on image to see full size)
In the next layout layering is key to the effect. I used the pocket watch element of this layout,( One of my flea market finds) in the Melt pot workshop.
Paper and flowers by Prima ( New Botanicals collection) . Title Stamp Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous .
Here are some of the features in close up.
Next a simple clean layout. Paint effects on background created using Shimmerz paints. Sheet music Rosettes add the detail. The watch face is accented with a Vintaj Brass Filigree flower.
Working with Ten Second Studio Metal and creating collage backgrounds. Clock embellishment created in the Melt pot workshop.
Detail is everything. Every layout features a little something by Vintaj. Above you can see a little brass filigree flower and some clock hands, which when combined with the melt pot embellishment transform a simple orange flower.
Prima Botanicals , Ten second Studio metal and this amazing stamp set come together with my sheet music and vintage clip art( Graphics Fairy) for this spring inspired layout. Again Vintaj brass elements add detail .
Last but not least. Adding texture with texture medium and stencils. Hinges and filigree by Vintaj Brass. Flowers and Birds new from Prima. Paper Artsy bird cage Die was used for the little swing.
