What to bring to the St Ives Weekend
This is a technique driven weekend.
The themes and photo choices for your projects are entirely up to you. I like to work with single photos, however I recognise that we all scrapbook in different ways for different reasons .If your style demands more that one photo that is fine ,the workshops will teach you new techniques which you can then develop to suit your own projects.

Creating surface design using moulding pastes and other Art mediums.

Working with “Artist Cellar” stencils

Dimensional effects with Fabric, Canvas and card

Giving your work an “Art journal” feel
We will be creating a layout with an Art journal twist..
Using an inspirational Quote or piece of poetry,combined with photo/photos or imagery of your choice.

Building up the layers.
creating backgrounds using 1 ply papers

Journaling
Different way of incorporating Art journal style lettering and words onto your projects.
Weekend Essentials.
- 12″ x12″ paper and contrasting card stock ( A4 if you work to this size)
- Plain Card coloured card stock to include white and cream.
- One ply paper (eg Tissue paper in various colours, Napkins ( patterned) Rice paper, parchment )
- Photos for at least 8 layouts ( depending on how fast you work!)
- Inspirational Quote or excerpt of poetry,combined with photo/photos or imagery of your choice.
- Basic Equipment
- Cutting Mat
- Craft mat
- Ruler
- pencils
- journaling pens ( to include one white pen)
- paint brushes
- Scissors/ scalpel
- double sided tape
- masking tape
- PVA & Silicon glue
- Protective gloves ( if you don’t like getting messy!)
Project materials
- Distress Inks and applicators
- Rubber stamps of your choice
- Alcohol ink ( small selection )
- Acrylic paint various colours
- Gesso
- Lace and fabric off cuts
- Newspaper( to protect the work surfaces)
- Old book pages and sheet music
- Paper doilies
- Buttons
- Beads ( to include seed beads)Embroidery threads
- Selection of needles and sewing thread
- Double sided fusible web eg Lite seam- a seam, Bond a web.
- Embellishments of your choice to include some metal charms and flowers , and ribbon

There may be time over the course of the weekend to work on your own individual projects ( depending how late you wish to work!) If you wish to bring along some additional projects please feel free to do so.
